Hello to everyone and a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
2006 is almost over already and what have we got to show for it I wonder?
We’ve moved house, just 100 yards or so down the street. We have a new(ish) car though that was through necessity rather than a genuine desire to upgrade.
We’ve had some fantastic holidays and trips away to Rhodes and Budapest as well as an eventful but thoroughly memorable trip round Ireland. We had business trips to Amsterdam, Frankfurt and er, Garforth, Leeds.
We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary.
We have a new niece. Welcome to the world Bethany!
We also had more than our share of sadness. We said goodbye to my Auntie Dawn and recently, Jane’s father. We also know that many of you reading this have also lost loved ones this year and we want you to know that we’re thinking of you especially this Christmas.
But at the risk of sounding like one of those tacky chain mails we all get from time to time, I would like to remember 2006 for the friends who played a part in it:
- Friends who were there with messages of support during the sad times.
- Friends who turn up every Tuesday night for movie club, every time the band plays and almost every Friday night.
- Friends who are still here, somewhat worse for wear the following morning!
- Friends we met on holiday, had a great time with and may never see again.
- Friends who are actually just unsigned bands trying to get themselves heard on myspace.
- Friends who phone or text in the middle of the night because they are a bit pissed and feel like a chat.
- Friends who do dinner, lunch or coffee anytime, anywhere, but especially at Café Bar Deli
Friends who give us their tickets for the Munster Senior Hurling Final and expect nothing in return.
-Friends who sign our guest book.
Here’s to you all. Have a great 2007 and keep in touch, no matter where you, or we, end up.
Jon and Jane
